Rundown on Red Cross Training Davao City
Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Last day of the Red Cross First Aid and Basic Life Support Training is the Water Safety Program.
Together with the Instructor we learned how to stay safe in the water and how to save lives even if we are non-swimmers.
Things to remember when in the water:
1. Dont swim alone
2. Dont swim on an empty stomach or after eating, it will cause cramps and you wouldnt want it
3. When saving someone it is best to go from the behind, take care so they wont grab hold of you and pull you down
4. In swimming pools always follow the instructions given by the resort or the owner. Its for your safety
5. Never go to the water when Lightning is around. You wouldnt want to be fried fish.

Here we are recieving instructions from our sexy instructor. (sexy because he was wearing a skimpy bikini. Lols). We were taught how to grab a drowned victim and how to administer cpr to prolong and increase the chances of the victim to survive. Tips, when you go down into the pool you should take a shower first so that you body could gradually adjust to the temperature of the water. Your body can go to shock or can experience cramps when it is suddenly exposed to hot ot cold temperatures. When you have cramps in the water, stay calm and float on your back. Swim using a different stroke or raise your hands to call for help.

This was during lunch time, after we already passed our water safety program training. We all successfully passed the water safety program and we were all happy about it.

This is us in action!.Focus on the immediate problem. Check the airway, breathin and circulation of the victim.

These are my groupmates during the situational analysis of the red cross training program. Our victim was caught unawares in a bombing incident. She suffered from a head injury, bent elbow, fractured leg and bleeding on the right arm. As trainees, fresh from the classroom instruction and simulations, we administered first aid, cpr, bandaging and splinting. We were actually quite excited and we loved the experience. It was a fun training experience and it left me nostalgic for at least a 2 or 3 days. Yes I do attach myself to experiences and its hard letting go. Oh well I had fun, that’s whats important.

The end of the Red Road
Saturday, May 23rd, 2009
Today will have an ease and laziness to it. Succumb to that and just let yourself relax. You’ll feel no guilt about taking a nap or swinging in the hammock all day. But things will stir later on when your stomach will want attention. Your brain will be good with that and let you focus long enough to throw together a salad and a tuna melt.
-This is my daily foodscope and it couldnt be more appropriate. I dont really have time even to eat what I have prepared for myself. That’s because I am quite preocuppied with editing photos of our Last day Red Cross Training. Earlier we had Water Safety instruction wherein we learned non-swimmers way to save drowning people. It was really fun but the sun was so hot we couldnt stay long in the water. Right now I miss the class already but one must understand that its normal to come and go in this ever changing world. We must be happy that once in our lives our souls have met and graced each other’s presence. TO the people ive met, you will never be forgotten. I enjoyed the training experience with you. It was fun actually, after passing the water safety exam we had a fun situational analysis exam. The Sitan was a simulation of a bombing incident with five victims. The trainees are to practice the skills and knowledge learned all throughout the whole week and apply it to the bleeding and unconscious victim. So we had our CPR, blood sweep, DCAPBTLS, bandaging and splinting. All in all it was a fun event. We learned something very practical and yet very important and at the same time we had fun doing it. Hopefully, when the skills are needed may we be able to apply the intervention successfully.
dont have photos yet. still waiting for others to upload
The Real You Reading
Friday, May 22nd, 2009I cant resist sharing this “Real You Reading” from astrology.com.
For those who are interested or curious about astrological readings you may visit astrology.com to get your own interpretation. This is also for those who want to enlighten themselves about their own personality. The readings is not absolutistic. The basis of its interpretation is the given name of the person, date of birth, time of birth and location of birth. We were born unique individuals and we were born in different days, time and location, different alignment of planets and different positions of the sun.
My reading is as follows
The real me:
Chapter 1: The Sun - Your Ego Structure
SUN IN LIBRA
You are a good negotiator and a natural diplomat, always seeking harmony and always seeing other people’s point of view. You have a love of beauty, are inspired by ideals, and have an especially strong sense of justice. You want your surroundings to reflect your vision of the world which is oriented to beauty, harmony and balance. You are so friendly and so diplomatic that you may seem to lack resolve to others. You see infinite shades of meaning to each issue and it appears as if you are inconsistent. Your life improves when you don’t procrastinate and when you aren’t afraid to tell people your point of view even when you know they don’t want to hear it. Be more decisive.
MERCURY IN LIBRA
Your mind is on a quest for perfection, harmony and beauty. You are rational and fond of comparison. You look for justice. You want the right answer, the right inflection and the right emphasis. When you speak, others will see you are incredibly polished and persuasive. Be careful you don’t end up as some oily, back-bending huckster bent on selling through flattery. Have a position of your own and assert it up front, as diplomatically as possible. When circumstances aren’t to your liking, you make premeditated adjustments for the effect. They can be superficial or even insincere. You are easily led astray because your mind is open to all points of view. Translate this into a higher intuition; then, your open, balanced fair-mindedness wins you respect from others and many good friends.
My affirmation would be my own.
