Earth Goddess, Gaia, the First Parent, self-fertile, bearer of all living creatures, human, animal, and
often all plants and other sentient life forms.

Today Ondoy Leaves
Sunday, September 27th, 2009September 27, 2009. Its my birthday today and Its a happy Day. I am a resident of Davao City, Philippines. I am lucky because me and my family are safe and sound in the midst of the passage of bagyong ondoy. Coincidentally, the name of the storm is the same as the pet name of my former classmate in elementary who turned out to be one of the best buds of my 19 year old brother. Anyhow, the devastating bagyong Ondoy took away 50 or so lives in the Manila area of Philippines. For all those who read this, let us offer a few seconds or moments of prayer or invocation to the divine, that those who suffered and died may be at peace and may they find happiness in the new form that they live their essence.
May this event be a reminder to us that humans are not the Gods of nature. We are born of nature and we must always hold nature sacred in our lives. Climate change has a huge impact in occurence of such a terrible tragedy. The media was able to broadcast the situation of the people in Manila, Philippines and we can see how powerful and terrible mother nature could be. I hope that we no recognize the inherent capability and awesomeness of nature. Let us not forget about the sanctity of the things that surround us. Existence of things are unexplainable and mysterious. It leads us to believe that a great power exists and that ultimately we are all safe because we will all come back to that great power. It is our duty, however to exit in this world as meaningfully as we can.
I ask that we all offer a good thought to the world right now. Let us think of a happy world, of people becoming strong from the struggles, of people progressing and rising above their own weaknesses and helping others rise again. Let us all survive and live our lives well. ASk for the blessings and give blessings to others. Good day!.
The Hierophant
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
The Hierophant card affirms my alter ego is mandated to practice what I preach as both a First Among Equals and Disciple to its network or fold. Dual port-keys decode my superpowers to account and self-preserve, bound to conform by faith or rights under equal protection, or resist to re-balance high-handed architecture that’s on the brink of collapse under its own culture, hypocrisy and crossed virtues. Being in or out of the Barnyard Pageant sets a line or oath between ‘us’ and ‘them’ but today’s dose of theatrical humility, passive climate or organized troubles lends credibility or continuity by promoting rank and file image. By popular demand I bow to the master or am compelled to honor a blueprint, uniform or code of common decency to get to the top or bottom of it. Take me to your leader and I’m inclined to condescend to acquiesce to a request, unless inconsistent with house rules.
Be self-conscious. Introspect
Sunday, September 20th, 2009
The Six of Chalices card suggests that my power today lies in self-consciousness. I am not alone. It’s not too late to make a fresh start or to pursue my hearts desire. The fountain of my youth or my Holy Grail is revealed in the simple pleasures and gestures that are unaware of their own beauty, connection, and power. I am empowered by nostalgia or past perceptions and my gift is rejuvenation.
Break Bad Habits
Thursday, September 17th, 2009Have a Bad Habit? Take a Doctor’s Advice
Breaking a habit can be as hard as staying awake in an 8:00 A.M. geology lecture. It is, nevertheless, possible. (Or so they say; I could never stay awake in that class.) Perhaps it would have been easier had I followed the doctors’ orders below.1. Recognize your triggers. Our habits are often prompted. Dr. Wendy Wood, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Duke University, put it this way: “If you regularly eat chips while sitting on the couch, after a while, seeing the couch will automatically prompt you to reach for the Doritos.” The couch becomes a trigger.
With this knowledge in hand, the shame-filled snack lover has a new weapon of attack. Instead of relying on willpower to resist the chips, he or she can stop the urge before it strikes by sitting in a different spot–or selling the couch.
2. Snap yourself. Whether it’s biting nails or drinking soda, we do bad things for a reason. Though it might be hidden, there’s a reward milling around there somewhere.
Brian Wansink, Ph.D., author of Mindless Eating, offers simple advice to take advantage of the fact. “Habits,” he says, “become that way because they provide value to a person.” To change the habit, take away the value.
Here’s his tip: Put a rubber band around your wrist. Every time you engage in your negative behavior, snap it–and snap it hard! (Well, not too hard.) Simple as it sounds, it works. According to Dr. Wansink, “It’s a quick way to pair non-reinforcing behavior with the behavior you want to stop.”
3. Hang in there. If you’re trying to start a new habit, for example jogging every morning, Monika Fleshner, PhD., has good news. If you can force it for two or three weeks, habit will soon take over the heavy lifting.
Here’s the science: When you do something such as exercising, something that makes you feel good when you’re through, neurotransmission of dopamine is increased.
(Dopamine, if you don’t already know, is associated with the pleasure system of the brain. It produces feelings of enjoyment, which motivates the action that triggered it and helps to form a habit.)
The more you exercise, the more you get chemically rewarded. After two to three weeks, your brain will actually crave the activity. You’ll be eager to exercise.
