Today Ondoy Leaves

September 27, 2009. Its my birthday today and Its a happy Day. I am a resident of Davao City, Philippines. I am lucky because me and my family are safe and sound in the midst of the passage of bagyong ondoy. Coincidentally, the name of the storm is the same as the pet name of my former classmate in elementary who turned out to be one of the best buds of my 19 year old brother. Anyhow, the devastating bagyong Ondoy took away 50 or so lives in the Manila area of Philippines. For all those who read this, let us offer a few seconds or moments of prayer or invocation to the divine, that those who suffered and died may be at peace and may they find happiness in the new form that they live their essence. 

May this event be a reminder to us that humans are not the Gods of nature. We are born of nature and we must always hold nature sacred in our lives. Climate change has a huge impact in occurence of such a terrible tragedy. The media was able to broadcast the situation of the people in Manila, Philippines and we can see how powerful and terrible mother nature could be. I hope that we no recognize the inherent capability and awesomeness of nature. Let us not forget about the sanctity of the things that surround us. Existence of things are unexplainable and mysterious. It leads us to believe that a great power exists and that ultimately we are all safe because we will all come back to that great power. It is our duty, however to exit in this world as meaningfully as we can. 

I ask that we all offer a good thought to the world right now. Let us think of a happy world, of people becoming strong from the struggles, of people progressing and rising above their own weaknesses and helping others rise again. Let us all survive and live our lives well. ASk for the blessings and give blessings to others. Good day!.
