Oh My Moon,

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Oh My Word. Yesterday was December 29, 2009 and a cash worth 111, 000, 000 (one hundred eleven million pesos) pesos was won by a lucky soul from the Island of Luzon in the Philippines. I wish that this huge amount can somehow help other people’s lives and may this amount stimulate positive changes in the economy.

If I had such amount, I will guarantee that my immediate community will experience a progressive breakthrough by some mysterious program that I have yet to develop. I wish for a chance to win a huge amount like this. A lot of resources entails lots of opportunity to develop the self — ultimately for the benefit of the world.

Anyhow, right this very hour { 1:33 pm (GMT +8)} the moon is 96% full. Which means that this is a great time to go hit the beach. The moon is in its fullest splendor and it is a very soul charging experience to watch the face of the moon beside the mysterious and vast ocean. Recharge your soul and reconnect with the ultimate source of goodness and life. Gather the blessings of the Full moon by immersing in water and meditating in the face of the moon. You can also choose to sit for just a few minutes watching the moon. Take 9 deep breaths (fill in your lungs until your stomach gets big) and then release it slowly while focusing on the moon. This is one type of meditation that will enable you to gather the blessings of the wondrous mother moon. Try it and see how it makes you feel. Go to your nearest beach or pool area now. Or wait for the evening sky to emphasize the great mysterious Moon Goddess.

All I’m saying is, Give time to celebrate every Full Moon. For no Full moon is ever the same.

Fighting the Common Cold: What you need to know

Monday, December 28th, 2009

My throat is raw. I want to sleep to stop this burden. My throat is raw. I need to release the burden.

Yes, I was attacked by the virus and today I am pissed by the signs.

I have a viral upper respiratory tract infection.

Darn you, Common Cold.

Upper respiratory tract infection or the common cold is a very “common” phenomena indeed for all people across the globe. This is actually the most common acute illness for outpatients in hospitals.  URI or Upper Respiratory tract infection can range from the simple common cold to the deadly pneumonia or epiglottitis.

Today Im lucky to have the simple type of URI. Common cold is a mild and self limiting acute illness of the nasopharynx. This means that the mucous membranes of the nose and throat are inflamed due to the invasion of cold viruses, and that the body can heal itself if given due time. Viruses that cause common cold include: rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, coronaviruses, enteroviruses, and respiratory syncytial virus.

When you have a cold, you will experience some or all of these symptoms: frequent sneezing,  runny nose, scratchy and sore throat, cough, horse voice, and nasal obstruction.

Other associated symptoms include mild fever, fatigue and general weakness. Sometimes malaise does occur. Headaches however are rare for URIs.

The duration of a cold can vary. Colds usually last for a week, for mild types it disappears after 2 to 3 days. However, severe colds due to other environmental stresses and pressures may last up to 2 weeks. If you are experiencing cold symptoms for more than 2 weeks, consult a doctor right away.

If you got the cough without other symptoms, you can relieve the distress by:

1. Rest
2. Drink lots of fluids. Coconut water, Lemon Juice with honey or warm water will really help reduce stress on your throat.
3. Take zinc lozenges, they are especially effective with cough.
4. Cough into a pillow to lessen the blow of muscle tissues
5. Take 500mg Vitamin C every 4 hours and cod liver oil every 8 hours to help your body fight against the infection.

For the common cold, intervention include:

1. Take decongestants to clear your nasal pathway.
2. Cough lozenges
3. Vaporizer or humidifier or steamer for dry cough
4. Try searching for alternative methods such as botanical and naturopathy medicines.
5. Drink lots and lots of fluid
6. Make saltwater nose drops by for nasal irritation and build up. 1 tbsp salt with 1 tbsp baking soda added to 2 cups of water yields a lot of nosedrops.
7. Take  1000mg Vitamin C.

8. Concoct a garlic cough syrup. Garlic contains the active ingredient guaifenesin which is an expectorant.
9. Drink warm Herbal tea every hour

Common cold caused by viruses have no cure in itself, but it is self limiting so it will just go away in a week’s time.

So we just have to be patient and make the most of our time even though we got colds.

Travel Guatemala & Bubble Gum

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Gorgeous Miss Guatemala! A piece of her country Guatemala = The land from where her beauty was born and nurtured.

Guatemala got its name from an Indian word meaning “full of trees.”

Among Guatemala’s foliage, the Chicle tree is an international star.

It produces chicle or the white resin that makes the popular

chewing gum.

Up to date, Guatemala is responsible for the production of a quarter of the world’s bubblegum supply.

Chicleros climb chicle trees and use zigzag cutting techniques with their machetes to collect the white resins.

The sap collected will then be processed through boiling and cooling methods to produce chicle blocks. Helicopters and other aircraft will then transport these blocks out of the dense tropical jungle. The blocks will now be processed in industries and sold in markets as: BUBBLEGUM

Yum Yum Yum

Spell for Happy Home

Friday, December 25th, 2009

I love my email. Through this I receive insights from various points of interest. Here’s one magnanimous idea that we can do before the end of the year.

Here’s a happiness spell for you:

Basil Happiness Spell
*********************

I especially like this one because it has the added benefit of
attracting financial abundance as well - you see basil is the herb
of positive abundance.

First up:

1) Buy a new broom yourself (and discard any old ones) and use this
new broom to sweep the floors of any old negative energy hanging
around (this broom MUST be new - to bring in positive new
experiences).

2) Grow Basil in your garden, around the house

and/or

3) Place pots of fresh basil by your front entrance and around the
perimeter of your home

and/or

4) If it’s not possible to grow basil - then place fresh basil in a
vase in a prominent spot in your kitchen, replacing it weekly or as
soon as it starts to spoil.

This Basil will draw into your house joy, harmony, tranquility,
cooperation and peace.

And also be aware that YOU TOO must have the right and matching
energy and focus of a desire to have a happy, harmonious home - do
not project the responsibility onto others.

Remember LIKE attracts LIKE.

So cast this spell and YOU also be what you are asking for :-)

Thanks to Arabella Jolie for the wonderful spell. Try it and have a good life next year!
