Travel Guatemala & Bubble Gum

Gorgeous Miss Guatemala! A piece of her country Guatemala = The land from where her beauty was born and nurtured.
Guatemala got its name from an Indian word meaning “full of trees.”
Among Guatemala’s foliage, the Chicle tree is an international star.
It produces chicle or the white resin that makes the popular
chewing gum.
Up to date, Guatemala is responsible for the production of a quarter of the world’s bubblegum supply.
Chicleros climb chicle trees and use zigzag cutting techniques with their machetes to collect the white resins.
The sap collected will then be processed through boiling and cooling methods to produce chicle blocks. Helicopters and other aircraft will then transport these blocks out of the dense tropical jungle. The blocks will now be processed in industries and sold in markets as: BUBBLEGUM.
